Original charcoal and graphite drawing on
illustration board by Carson City artist Andrew Saar.
The board measures 10 by 15 inches. This work is titled
"#25 and coaches On the Minden Run"
 
Saar donated 12 of his original Charcoal drawings to
the "New" Federal building in 1970 and a prominent
local merchant saw them and contacted the artist.
Over the next few years a series depicting the trains
of the Virginia and Truckee Railroad were commisioned.
This is one of those original drawings dated 1977.
 
Prints were sold in this area for decades and graced the
walls of local institutions and collectors homes just like the
first 12 pieces in the Federal building.
 
These original V&T train drawings have not been seen
for years and are fresh to the market.
 
This original drawing is offered as shown without frame.
It was coated with a fixative before being framed in the 70s.
It has a pleasant light amber tone with lighter margins
previously under matt.
